This 150-year-old building, with its beautiful arched windows, has gained a new lease on life: catering for people’s health and recreation needs rather than the needs of locomotives. The three floors of this heritage-protected structure, now home to Aegviidu Recreational Depot, feature an information point for sports and hiking enthusiasts, cloakrooms and store rooms (including for equipment for hire), showers (with a sauna), a seminar room and the Aegviidu service point of Anija Municipal Government.
The building’s walls are made from historic red brick, while its new roof rests on sturdy glulam beams.
We designed new structures and technical systems which will extend the life of this already 150-year-old building by at least another half a century. The engineer was Maksim Zelenski.
