MOBEC commercial building

Designing an extension to the MOBEC commercial building

Date:

2016

Client:

MARU Ehitus

Project type:

Extension to new building

Architects: Veiko Tein, Gea Hein, Anni Veske

Project details

The overall architectural concept here is simple, functional and specific to the building. The external architectural solution was based on the facade solutions for the existing warehouse. The size of the building stemmed from need. It was placed on the site on the same level as the existing building. The extension is L-shaped, its walls supported by a reinforced concrete plinth like those of the existing building.

The 1st floor of the building is home to the main entrance, offices and warehousing space with loading docks. The 2nd floor was designed to be cantilevered over the loading docks and features offices and facilities for warehouse workers. The 3rd floor has technical rooms and additional space which could be used as offices and meeting rooms in the future.

Technical data:

  • Area of property: 24552
  • Closed net area: 8316 m²
  • Number of storeys: 3
